Register to vote or update your registration through the Arizona Secretary of State; elections in Verrado are run by Maricopa County.

Update your voter registration to your Verrado address as soon as you move in. Verrado voters register through the state, and Maricopa County runs their elections, including federal and state races, City of Buckeye contests and school district measures. We don't take sides on candidates or measures; this page is about the how and when.

Key dates: November 3, 2026 General Election

From the Arizona Secretary of State's 2026 election page:

Date What happens
Mon., Oct. 5, 2026 (passed) Last day to register (or update your registration) for this election, by 11:59 p.m.
Wed., Oct. 7, 2026 Early voting begins and early ballots are mailed
Fri., Oct. 23, 2026 Last day to request a replacement ballot by mail
Tue., Oct. 27, 2026 Last day to mail your ballot back
Tue., Nov. 3, 2026 Election Day

The Oct. 23 and Oct. 27 dates come from the Maricopa County election calendar. After Oct. 27, don't trust the mail: your ballot has to be received by 7:00 p.m. on Election Day, at the Recorder, a drop-off site or any voting location (Secretary of State). Drop it off instead.

Registration for the Nov. 3 general election closed Oct. 5. If you haven't updated your address since moving to Verrado, do it now so you're set before the next registration deadline.

Registering or updating

If you have an Arizona driver license or state ID, you can register or update online through AZMVDNow, as the Secretary of State's registration page explains. You can also print or request a voter registration form and mail it to the Maricopa County Recorder, or fill one out in person at a County Recorder office.

The Secretary of State says your voter registration card should arrive in the mail within four to six weeks after you register.

Mail ballots and voting in person

You can ask to be put on Arizona's Active Early Voting List so a ballot comes automatically for each election you're eligible for. Ballots come with a postage-paid return envelope. Sign and date it, then mail it or drop it at an official drop box. If you're on the early voting list and need your ballot sent to a different address, call the county at (602) 506-1511 (Maricopa County).

Maricopa County voters can track ballot status through Maricopa County Elections and the state's my.arizona.vote.

To vote in person, find vote centers and drop boxes at locations.maricopa.vote. Bring proof of identity; the county's elections site has an ID at the Polls page listing what counts.

What's on a Verrado ballot

It depends on your exact address: your city council district, your school districts and any special districts. Maricopa County Elections has a What's on my Ballot? tool on its site.

One local item for many Verrado addresses this fall: the Agua Fria Union High School District is asking voters to continue its existing budget override as Prop 438. The district's override page explains its position. The state's publicity pamphlet has the official text and the arguments for and against. We're not telling you how to vote, just where to read up.

Who runs what

The Secretary of State runs statewide election administration. In Maricopa County, registration records sit with the County Recorder, and the county Elections Department, with the Board of Supervisors and the Recorder, runs city, school, state and federal elections, per the county's elections site.

Moved within Verrado? Update your address anyway. Your precinct or district can change even if your ZIP code doesn't.

Questions go to the Secretary of State's line, 1-877-THE-VOTE, or to county elections through the contact page on its site.
