Verrado's municipal government — utilities, permits, police and fire, parks, and city council information.

When something breaks on a public street, or you need trash, a permit or the police, call the City of Buckeye, not the HOA. Verrado sits inside the City of Buckeye, so the city is your local government. City matters include trash and recycling, police and fire, building permits, city parks, streets, and the City Council. Water is not a city service in Verrado: the Verrado Services utilities page lists EPCOR. Sewer isn't a city service here either: EPCOR runs Verrado's own water reclamation plant, so when you call EPCOR to start water, ask them to set up sewer too (EPCOR rates).

City Hall is at 530 E. Monroe Ave., in downtown Buckeye, and the main line is 623-349-6000. The city's second office, The Landing, is at 945 N. 215th Ave., Suite 137, phone 623-349-6200. City pages list weekday office hours of 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for both. Check the city site before you drive over in case of a holiday or change.

City or HOA?

New neighbors mix these up all the time. Here's a rough guide:

Issue Usually goes to
Trash pickup, bulk trash City (utilities page)
Water bill EPCOR, per the Verrado Services utilities page
Police, fire, code issues on public streets City
Building permits for your home City, plus association design review where it applies
Common areas, landscaping standards, amenity access Verrado Community Association
Property tax bill, assessor records Maricopa County

Not sure? Start with the city, and they'll tell you if it isn't theirs.

Police and fire

For emergencies, dial 911.

Buckeye Police list a general information line (623-349-6400) and a separate non-emergency crime reporting line (623-386-4421) on their contact page. The department's office is on W. Yuma Rd. That same page points residents to RAVE emergency alerts, and signing up takes about two minutes. Do it this week.

Your council district

Buckeye elects council members by district. The city's district boundaries map shows which district covers your address, and the Mayor and Council page lists who represents you.

Agendas, minutes and meeting videos are on the city's Granicus meeting portal. We pull upcoming council and Planning and Zoning items onto our Meetings page. When an agenda item is just a filing, we label it "Filed plans" in our roundups. It doesn't mean anything has been approved.

Road work

The city posts project pages for major road work. A big one for Verrado right now is the Verrado Way project from Yuma Road to Van Buren Street. As of Oct. 11, the city's project page says the Verrado Way and Yuma Road intersection "will remain fully closed to all traffic through fall 2026," and no reopening date is posted (InBuckeye reports the same). The project page has the latest. Correction (Oct. 11, 2026): this page previously said the city was aiming for one lane each way by the end of October and credited InBuckeye. That was a city staff estimate reported by West Valley View on Sept. 10; the city's current project page does not repeat it.

When a city link won't load

buckeyeaz.gov sometimes blocks automated tools. If a link here won't open, try it in a normal browser or call the main line.

Skyline Regional Park is a city park, unlike the neighborhood parks inside Verrado. Our news roundups summarize city decisions that affect Verrado, with links back to the source.
