County government for Verrado — property taxes, assessor records, county parks, and public health.

Your property tax bill, your home's assessed value and your voter registration all run through Maricopa County, not the City of Buckeye. Verrado is in Maricopa County, so a handful of everyday homeowner jobs go to county offices. The county seat is in downtown Phoenix, but you can handle most of it online.

Property tax

Your property tax bill comes from the county Treasurer, even though it includes levies from the city, school districts and other taxing bodies. For many Verrado homes it also includes Community Facilities District (CFD) assessments, the city-formed special districts that financed community infrastructure. Those are separate from your HOA dues; our CFD page explains how they work.

This year, bills are running late. AZFamily reported on Sept. 30, 2026 that the Treasurer's Office said some mailed bills would arrive after the usual Oct. 1 date, citing late changes to levies and rates plus problems with a new computer system. The office set the first-half payment deadline at Monday, Nov. 2, 2026, at 5 p.m. Don't wait for the paper bill: you can view and pay online through the Treasurer's site. The Treasurer's tax calendar has the second-half dates.

If you have a mortgage, your lender may pay taxes from escrow. Pull up the bill online anyway to see the CFD lines and make sure the payment posted.

If your home's value looks wrong

The Assessor sets the values your tax is based on. If you think yours is off, the Assessor's site has an appeals section, including online filing and a tutorial. Look up the filing deadline as soon as your valuation notice arrives so you don't miss the window.

County parks near Verrado

White Tank Mountain Regional Park is a Maricopa County park, which is why its entry fees and rules differ from city-run Skyline Regional Park. County Parks posts programs, ranger events and closures on its site.

Protect your deed

Both the Recorder and Assessor sites promote Maricopa Title Alert, which notifies you when a document is recorded under your name. The Recorder's site has the details. We don't list phone numbers or office hours here because they change; each office's site has current contacts.

Start at Maricopa County, then the Treasurer (pay property tax), Assessor and Recorder. For voting and the outdoors, there's Elections and County Parks.
