Verrado Heritage Elementary School

Verrado Heritage Elementary School is a public neighborhood school at 20895 W. Hamilton St. in the Heritage District, the family-oriented part of Verrado that's also home to Heritage Swim Park. It's run by Litchfield Elementary School District #79 (LESD), and the school site lists the front office at 623-547-3300.

The thing that surprises families: VHE goes past elementary. Federal school-directory data from the National Center for Education Statistics lists it as a pre-K through 8th grade campus for the 2023–24 school year, so some kids can stay on one campus through middle school. Grade setups can change, so confirm this year's with the school.

The school's homepage lists its core beliefs, including academic excellence, student well-being, teacher quality and putting people first.

Who's zoned here

VHE serves students inside its attendance zone, which covers the Heritage area. Verrado also has Verrado Elementary and Verrado Middle School, so your exact address decides your campus. LESD's Find your School map will tell you.

If you're buying in Heritage, don't take a listing's school claim at face value. Confirm with the district, and get it in writing if it matters to the purchase.

Enrolling

Registration runs through LESD's student registration page, with a list of required documents.

Kindergarten families should start at the district's kindergarten page. The district's open enrollment form notes the cutoff: five years old before September 1.

NCES lists a pre-K grade at VHE. Program details, eligibility and openings come from the district, so ask before you plan around a preschool spot.

Not zoned here? You can request VHE through open enrollment. Approvals depend on space and last one school year.

Daily routine

Bell times, arrival and pickup routines, and before- or after-school options are set by the school and can change. Go by the school site or the front office, not last year's flyer.

Looking up performance

After 8th grade

High school is a different district. Verrado students move on to the Agua Fria Union High School District. Verrado High School is the AFUHSD campus inside the community, but check the district's locator for your address.
