Childcare & Pediatric Care near Verrado

How to find licensed childcare through Arizona DHS, plus the pediatric and clinic listing already on this site. No rankings, no invented waitlists.

Look up any daycare on AZ Care Check before you tour it. Ten minutes on the state's site tells you more than a glossy brochure will. Finding care for little ones really comes down to licensing and whether there's a spot, so this page points you to the state lookups, the school-based programs and the clinics close to home. You won't find a ranking of daycares or pediatricians here, or a list of current openings.

Licensed childcare: start with the state

Arizona licenses child-care facilities through the Arizona Department of Health Services, Child Care Facilities Licensing. That office is the regulator, not the City of Buckeye and not this site.

Here's the order I'd go in.

  1. AZ Care Check is ADHS's public licensing database. Search by facility name, address, or provider type. Records can include license status, inspection and survey history, complaint investigations, and enforcement actions. ADHS keeps that data, so treat it as the official history, then ask the provider about anything that doesn't make sense to you.
  2. Arizona Child Care Provider Search (DES / CCRR) is the state's Child Care Resource & Referral search. It's handy for finding providers by city, ZIP, ages served, and schedule. Just remember a listing there doesn't mean they have an opening.
  3. Confirm it in person. Ask to see the posted license and the ratios, and ask how they handle heat, pickup, and sick kids. Hours and tuition change, so get those from the provider in writing.

Unlicensed care exists in Arizona under specific rules, and ADHS publishes parent information about it on the childcare licensing site. If a caregiver can't show you a license or explain their status, I'd walk away and go back to the state lookups above.

District preschool and before- and after-school care

Litchfield Elementary School District #79 runs preschool and before- and after-school programs through its Community Education department. Current sites, ages, and fees are on the district's Community Education portal.

For 2026–27 (July 30, 2026 to May 21, 2027), the district's "Extended Day" program has two Verrado sites:

  • Verrado Elementary: mornings 6:00 to 8:30, afternoons 2:25 to 6:00 (site page)
  • Verrado Heritage Elementary: mornings 6:00 to 8:35, afternoons 2:40 to 6:00 (site page)

There's no Verrado Middle site on the list. Fall and spring break camp is at Litchfield Elementary, not in Verrado, and runs 6 AM to 6 PM, so plan the extra drive on break weeks. For the little ones, the Goddard School inside Verrado takes ages 6 weeks to 6 years, about 130 children, and sits across from Verrado Elementary (verrado.com Education page). Look it up on AZ Care Check like anyone else.

City recreation also has youth and early-childhood programs that change with the seasons. Start at Buckeye Parks & Recreation and the city's youth sports pages. They're great for filling an afternoon, but they don't replace licensed full-day childcare.

Pediatric and clinic care

Our main healthcare listing for Verrado is Banner Health Center (Verrado) at Verrado Way and I-10. Banner's official page describes family medicine and pediatric care at that clinic, including well-child exams and immunizations, with an on-site lab and imaging. Provider lists, hours, and scheduling are on Banner Health, so check there before you go. We don't reprint star ratings, and it's certainly not the only option in the West Valley.

Banner has been here a while: it bought 62 acres in Verrado in December 2007, and the first phase opened in 2012 (verrado.com FAQ).

Verrado's 2025 attractions sheet lists more care in Verrado itself: Main Street Medical, My Dr. Now urgent care, Bailey Orthodontics, Main Street Dental, Village Grove Dentistry, Palm Valley Pediatric Dentistry and Vision Wellness, plus GoodVets and Marketside Animal Hospital for the pets. Victory Medical has a storefront at Sunrise Market. And NextCare Urgent Care recently opened at Verrado Marketplace (KTAR).

For emergencies, know your route before you need it. The same sheet puts Abrazo Buckeye Emergency Center about 5 miles away, Abrazo West Hospital 11 miles and Banner Estrella 15 miles.

For other clinics, start with your insurer's directory, then confirm the location and hours on that practice's own site. If there's one you think we should add, let us know.
