Verrado Way / Yuma Road: same project, a clearer public trail

The September 21 roundup already covered Buckeye's $7.92 million CIP adjustment for Verrado Way / Yuma Road (Project No. 101150), which lifted spending authority from $16 million to not more than $23.92 million. That funding story still stands. This note adds the public project page and the contractor listing so the work can be followed from more than one place.

What has not changed, per West Valley View (Sept. 10): council approved the adjustment at its Sept. 1 meeting; the primary intersection is still described as two lanes each way by the end of October, with the ultimate intersection by the end of calendar 2026; extra Yuma Road lanes west toward Dean Road may run into early 2027; a share of the added spend is expected back later through developer reimbursements.

The City of Buckeye posts a project page for Verrado Way from Yuma Road to Van Buren Street. A direct check of that page did not return details on Sept. 22, so the schedule above stays with West Valley View. Achen-Gardner's CMAR listing describes the same corridor: new travel lanes in both directions on Verrado Way from Yuma Road to Van Buren Street, plus drainage, traffic signals, and street lighting. The contractor page says the intersection stays fully closed to traffic until fall 2026, with access kept open for local businesses, schools, and homes.

Sales rank: Verrado at No. 38 nationally (midyear 2026)

InBuckeye reports Verrado posted 239 new-home contracts in the first half of 2026 — up about 29% from the same stretch a year earlier — and climbed to No. 38 on RCLCO's midyear top-selling communities list, up from No. 48 at midyear 2025. Among Arizona master-planned communities, the piece puts Verrado fourth.

A national ranking of contracts minus cancellations is a snapshot. It does not change association dues or the school pickup line.

The centre tenant page for Ross Dress for Less posts a phone number and store hours, so this roundup treats Ross as open. Target is also listing hours on its tenant page. Both pages say hours may vary — confirm on the tenant page the day you go.

Harkins BackLot still reads Coming Soon — bowling, arcade, sports viewing, and chef-driven dining under one roof, per the centre's public copy. No showtimes and no open date here. Tenant page.

Do not treat as open yet: Safeway, O.H.S.O., Shake Shack, Chili's, BJ's, Paris Baguette. If the directory flips them later, they can move. Until then they stay on the announced side of the Marketplace guide and the eat page.
